Updated: Press Kit for Media Professionals

Attention Public Information and Professional Outreach (PIPO) Committees! OA’s Press Kit has been updated to reflect the best current information we can present to media professionals about OA worldwide, including:

  • Estimated total number of OA meetings, including the availability of thousands of online meetings.
  • Estimated total number of countries and languages for which OA available.
  • Information about OA’s Unity with Diversity policy.
  • Revisions to “Problem Food Behaviors” that are commonly experienced by still-suffering compulsive eaters.
  • A new request to not refer to OA members as spokespersons (since claiming to be a spokesperson for OA is a break of Tradition Eleven).
  • Deletion of OA’s offer to procure health and wellness professionals as interview sources.
  • A new explanation of what OA members can offer for stories that are focused on trends (such as recent advances in weight-loss medicine).
  • Updated contact information for the World Service Office. The new Press Kit is now online for media professionals to access using the “Media and Press Kit” link in the footer of our website. PIPO committees may want to have it on hand to give to their local media.
